I have an issue where my welds on only side 2 of my positioner are off by 1/2 inch all in the same direction.  I haven't seen it myself but the night shift operator says they can make it go away by either restoring a backup or running a calibration on the positioner.  neither of these work all of the time according to them.  Just wondering if anyone has ever seen this or has an idea of what to chase.

I would suspect grounding arround the 7th axis SMB.
I have seen noise added counts to the rev counter but this would require calibrating the positioner to fix.
It is also possible that there is a mechanical problem like a broken key way.
