S3 Controller and IRB3000

Hi Guys,

One of my clients has bought two used units IRB3000's with S3 controllers. They are experiencing problems with the units losing the master positions following  power cut's to the plant. I'm led to believe they have replaced the cells in the IRB Base and on the SMB board  in the controller. But the problem still exists.
It has been atleast 4 years since i've worked on an S3 or S4 ABB and need to jog the grey matter, before i go fault finding. I've searched past threds for some info but its sketchy. It appears from the threads that there has been an upgrade of the battery packs and i could do with the upto date part numbers (if any one has them)that is required for the replacement of both the IRB pack and the SMB pack.

This is a very common problem because ABB has two different battery packs D-cell and Lithium and both of them have different charging systems so the SMB's are not interchangeable but most people just use what ever SMB they have to get the robot running. I do not know the part numbers either so it would be best to call ABB parts and get the correct SMB and battery pack combination and pass on the information.
