Hello Forum!

Is there a way to lock the Teach Pendant or disable the program from being edited?

Thanks!

Easy...
Use Robot Studio Online.... Get Write Access
Click on Authenticate...
Create a NEW user with ALL of the attributes.. Admin is VERY important!!!
Now you can remove all but the desired functions for the Default User.
You can make it so that the default user is only able to start the program and nothing else if you wish.
BE SURE YOU DO NOT FORGET THE PASSWORD FOR THE ADMIN USER!!!
IF you do, it is a simple service call to ABB...    So you are not completely done if you loose or forget, but it is a pain in the butt!

Is something like this also possible with the older versions?
The ones with the diskdrives in it?
Where online programming isn't possible?

You can set up userlevels in mmc.cfg for for the older versions, see the attached file.

You can set them from the teach pendant. System parameters-edit menu.

Works perfectly!

But can you set a time or something for the password to reset?
Are do you have to reboot for that?

You mean like a timeout for the session? Not that I'm aware of, maybe someone else knows?

I think it "logs you out" when you change mode on the robot. Ie: change from auto to manual.

Yes i mean a time out.

And indeed it logs out when changing mode.

But a time out should be nice.
