Which robot do you have?  The commutation for the IRB6000 motors are preset.  Commutation for 2000/3000 robots is usually recorded under the side cover of the robot where the SMB is located.  Parameters should have been backed up to floppy disk if there is one laying around somewhere.  There is the lining up each motor to the it's commutation mark on the brake (NOT THE CALIBRATION MARK) and doing an update, but that is tedious.

The parameters are stored on the EEPROM.  Moving from one DSQC230 to another is tricky unless you're very experienced with soldering.

my robot is a irb3000 i already located the robot in the commutations marks and in the calibration marks and i update  this values accordin to the values that are in the SMB but the robot still doing sudden movements so im going to change the eprom to another DSCQ 230 but i want to save the parameters , i dont know if there is a way to take out the values of the eprom.

When you say you don't have the disk, do you mean you don't have a double density floppy to save the parameters to? There is a trick to using high density floppies, you tape over the hole on the upper corner of the floppy (opposite the read only tab), and format it with the controller. You can save the parameters and program blocks.

If you are one of the lucky ones to have OLP3 on a computer (I am  icon_wink) you can use the Clink (computer link).
