Hi,
I'm new to the forum and was hoping someone out there might have some technical advice for me.  We have a 6400 (S4C/M98) that is rebooting on it's own from time to time.   The error messages indicate a voltage drop to the joints (39214: Low DC-bus voltage & 39217: Saturated Current Contr.).  So far in attempts to isolate the problem we have swapped out the DC Link and the Drive units, and replaced the cooling fans in the control cabinet (they were dead).  We have also checked all the voltages where we can and things seem OK (source AC, internal DC).  I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this behavior?  I have a feeling there may be a problem in the arm itself and not the controller, but I'm not sure how to diagnose the problem.  Any tips on testing the electrical in the arm would be great.

Those errors should not cause the system to intermittently reboot. Do the errors occur every time there is a reboot or do they sometimes occur and the system does not restart?

Check the all the mains connections from the incoming supply to the transformer etc for possible loose connections.
Could be a phase occasionally missing causing the power supply to shut down or maybe the power supply itself has a problem or connector issue.

Well, it does seem to be incoming voltage issues.  We had tackled our power problem before (we have a bad supply situation - old building - wacky wiring).  I thought the power situation was resolved and so I was hunting for other causes, but after I posted yesterday we had all sorts of problems, which turned out to be power related.  It looks like we are dropping a phase in our incoming power after all (again).....

Hi,

Many times I've seen the 3-ph leads come loose at the cabinet rotary mains switch.  I try to make it a habit to check them.  Also had a bad base cable reboot the controller when a motor voltage briefly shorted to the 24V at a certain position.
